Pace, not panic
We publish when the reporting is done — not when the news cycle demands it. If a story needs another phone call or a second source, it waits until Monday morning.
We are an independent motorsport editorial covering Formula 1, endurance racing, rally, and the drivers who make every lap matter. No PR fluff, no recycled press releases — just the race weekend as it actually happened.
The Race Driver began in 2017 as a Friday-night newsletter circulated among a handful of engineers and fans who were tired of motorsport coverage that read like a press kit. The goal was simple: tell the story behind the timing tower — the strategy calls, the radio messages, the contract dramas, the weather gambles, and the personalities that never quite fit the broadcast reel.
Nine seasons later, we cover every grand prix weekend with a small core editorial team and a rotating bench of specialist contributors — former mechanics, data engineers, club racers, and travel-worn journalists. We don't chase the most clicks. We chase the most honest read on what really happened from the green light to the chequered flag.
"The race isn't won on Sunday. It's understood on Monday."
Three commitments guide every article, podcast, and newsletter we publish. They are the reason readers come back, and the reason teams sometimes don't.
We publish when the reporting is done — not when the news cycle demands it. If a story needs another phone call or a second source, it waits until Monday morning.
Drivers, strategists, mechanics, and fans are people first. We report the names behind the timing sheet, not the slogans behind the sponsor logos.
Every claim links to its source. Every data point is traceable. When we get something wrong, we correct it in full, on the record, at the top of the piece — not buried in a footnote.
We do not run advertorial. We do not sell quotes. Our team, our coverage, and our calendar belong to the readers, not to the paddock PR machine.

A core editorial team based between London, Monaco, and São Paulo, supported by specialists who file from the paddock on race weekends.
Former F1 strategy engineer turned writer. Elena founded the desk and still files from the pit wall most race weekends.
Twelve Le Mans starts, two class wins. Daniel covers WEC, IMSA, and the long-tail sports car scene with rare technical depth.
Sofia profiles the people behind the helmets — from junior single-seaters to rally raid veterans. Based in São Paulo, files in three languages.
Builds the charts, pace deltas, and stint breakdowns that sit underneath every strategy story. PhD in vehicle dynamics, occasional club racer.
